How to Join First United Methodist Church
Make or renew your commitment to Jesus Christ.
Make a commitment to discipleship through First UMC, by coming forward during the closing hymn. We will introduce you and invite the congregation to welcome you following the service.
Involve yourself and your children in one of our Sunday School Classes.
Be willing when asked to find a place to service, to begin fulfilling the vows of prayers, presence, gifts, and service.

You may join First United Methodist Church in one of the following ways.

By Profession of Faith And Baptism
If you have never joined a church before, we will receive you by profession of faith. If you have not been baptized, we will be happy to baptize you. We will ask you to repent of your sin, receive Jesus Christ as your Savior, and ask you to lead a Christian life. When you answer, "I do" to these questions, you have made your profession of faith. We will also ask you to be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, and your service. Your answer is "I will."
By Transfer from Another Denomination
We recognize your baptism and profession of faith from your previous denomination. We believe that your coming to join First United Methodist Church is a statement of renewal of your faith in Jesus Christ. We will ask you to be loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by your prayers, your presence, your gifts and your service. Your answer to this question is "I will". We will notify your previous church of your decision to unite with First United Methodist Church.
By Transfer from Another United Methodist Church
We are happy to receive you by transfer from another United Methodist Church. We believe that your coming to unite with First United Methodist Church is in itself a statement of renewal of your faith and commitment to Christ and the UM Church. We will notify your previous church and inform them of your decision to join us at FUMC
